The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) would like to notify all business owners that all business licences expire on the 31st December 2022. Therefore, all businesses licence holders are reminded that their business licence is due for renewal by 31st January 2023.

If you are an active business owner, please complete the Renewal of Business Licence Application Form (which can be downloaded from the IRD’s website at www.ird.gov.ai ) and return the application to the IRD with the supporting documents as requested on the form.

All forms should be fully completed, signed and accompanied by the owner or an authorized representative of the establishment or business when submitted. The owner or authorized representative may be required to meet with an officer within the Taxpayer Services Unit to further discuss and update details of your business.

Business owners are reminded that the business licence certificate must be publicly and prominently displayed on the site location or premises. Officers of the IRD will be making inspections of all businesses in the first quarter of 2023 to ensure adherence to the Licencing of Businesses Act, 2021.

If a business owner fails to renew their business licence on or before 31st January 2022 and continues to operate without a valid licence, the licence shall not be renewed until the business owner pays the arrears for the period the business was operating without a licence. A penalty of 1% of the total arrears shall also be applied as per the aforementioned act.
