PRESS RELEASE - Taxpayer Advisory Programme

The Inland Revenue Department launches Taxpayer Advisory Programme for the Goods and Services Tax (GST).

The Valley, Anguilla - The Inland Revenue Department (IRD) advises potential registrants that registration for the Goods and Services Tax is ongoing.

Businesses and persons are required to apply for GST registration if::

  • Within the last 12 months, the value of their taxable supplies equaled or exceeded EC$300,000; or;
  • Within the next 12 months, they expect the value of their taxable supplies to equal or exceed EC$300,000;

Note that Auctioneers, Short-Term Accommodation Providers (stays of 182 days or less), Promoters and Proprietors of Public Entertainment or State or Statutory Bodies, are required to register from the date the taxable activity commenced, regardless of the registration threshold of EC$300,000.

The GST registration forms can be accessed on the IRD Website or at the office. Form F2 is to be completed by Sole Proprietors and Form F3 by Non-individuals such as Partnerships and Companies. A register containing relevant details of all GST registered persons will be published on the IRD website at the beginning of every month commencing 1 July 2022.

Failure to apply for registration is an offence under section 67 of the GST Act and businesses/persons may be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding EC$5,000 and imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years.
