Press Release GST Inclusive Pricing

Comptroller of the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) notifies retailers that the temporary arrangement to display prices exclusive of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) expires on 31st October 2022. Prices are required to be displayed inclusive of GST effective 1 November 2022.

The Valley, Anguilla – Section 95 of the GST Act 2021, provides that all prices displayed, quoted and advertised should be inclusive of GST. However, the Comptroller of IRD allowed a transition period for taxable persons in specified retail operations to temporarily display prices exclusive of GST, effective 1st July 2022 thus allowing time for updating and displaying of pricing as required under the GST Act. The Comptroller hereby notifies that this temporary arrangement expires on 31st October 2022.

Taxable persons in the specified retail operations previously published by the Comptroller and all other classes of taxable persons are advised to make the necessary adjustments to ensure that prices displayed, quoted and advertised are inclusive of GST effective 1 November 2022. Failure to adhere to this timeline, may result in enforcement action.

For more information, please refer to the Pricing Mechanism Guide which is available on the IRD’s website. Please also feel free to contact the Department at gst@gov.ai or inlandrevenue@gov.ai should you have any questions and visit our website and Facebook page for the most current publications on GST.
